DBT is a cognitive behavioral model that helps assist high risk youth and their families. This evidence based approach teaches youth and adults how to manage crisis through learning a series of specific skills that help clients learn to regulate emotions, tolerate distress and practice strategies to enhance positive communication, problem solving and relationship proficiencies. The DBT program includes a weekly skills group and clinical case management with the family. This program is open to youth ages 13 and older and typically lasts for 12 weeks.
