Work that uses both your mind and your heart
At Ariel, the work matters, and so do the people doing it. If you want to work alongside people building the lives they want, with a team that has your back, there’s a place for you here.
Recognized as a safe and healthy workplace
Ariel works to keep the people doing this work safe and supported, and that work has been recognized. For more than a decade, Health Links at the Colorado School of Public Health has recognized Ariel as a Certified Healthy Workplace Leader, and Ariel has received the Health Links Champion of Well-being Award. Ariel is also certified through Colorado’s Premium Cost Containment program, which recognizes employers with established workplace safety programs.

What the work looks like
Ariel serves children, youth, and families, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). We offer full-time and part-time jobs across our programs and our five Colorado locations. Some of what the work can include:
Maybe you’ve spent years in customer service or retail and you know how to make someone’s day a little better. Maybe you’ve cared for a family member, coached a team, worked as a CNA or a paraprofessional, or you’re finishing a degree in social work or psychology. Experiences like these carry over well here. What matters most is a real interest in people and a willingness to learn.
What it’s like to work here
You won’t do this work alone. Teams here lean on each other and talk things through together. When someone needs a hand, help can come from anywhere. A coworker, a supervisor, and a director can all pitch in on the ground. And someone at Ariel is on call around the clock for the moments that can’t wait until morning.
You have a life outside work, and the people here know it. When a child’s appointment, a school concert, or a family emergency comes up, teams look for ways to cover for each other so you can be where you need to be.
Recognition comes from coworkers as often as from supervisors. Some teams keep a shout-out board in the hallway; others have appreciation stations. When you start, you may fill out a favorite-things sheet so your team knows how you like to be thanked, and what snack to bring. Years of service get celebrated, and so do the holidays.
And then there are the wins. Some are big, like a Member landing a job or earning a promotion. Others look small from the outside and aren’t: a child greeting you by name for the first time, or a Member who used to stay close to home trying something new and telling you all about it at your next visit. These moments, and the people you share them with, are a big part of why many staff stay for years.
Is Ariel a good fit for you?
You’ll probably love it here if…
- You enjoy every day looking a little different
- You like knowing people are counting on you, and you show up for them
- You stay calm and creative when plans change
- You believe every person deserves dignity and respect, and you see people for who they are, not for a diagnosis or a circumstance
- You’d rather be part of a team than work on your own
- You care about doing things the right way, even when no one’s watching
- You’re always up for learning something new
If you recognized yourself here, we’d love to meet you. Every job posting describes what that role looks like day to day, and the interview is a good time to ask anything else.
Training and growth
You’ll start with an orientation to Ariel’s mission, values, and culture, and general employment information, then you’ll move into training for your program and role. Depending on the position, that may include CPR and First Aid, medication administration (QMAP), crisis prevention and de-escalation (CPI), and trauma-informed care, plus hands-on time learning from experienced staff. Ariel provides the training for these certifications.
Learning keeps going after your first weeks, with ongoing training to keep skills current and room to build new ones. Ariel also created a Case Manager Apprenticeship Program, registered with the Colorado State Apprenticeship Agency, which pairs on-the-job training with structured learning.
Where you start isn’t necessarily where you’ll stay. Some interns have joined our staff, and some case managers have gone on to become therapists. Others have moved from direct support into case management or training, or across programs into leadership. Our therapy team hires many of the interns it trains, and Ariel partners with colleges and universities to host student interns across several programs.
Benefits that take care of you
A benefits package is a big part of what a job is worth. Ariel offers medical, dental, and vision coverage at affordable rates, along with paid time off that grows the longer you stay. For staff wellness, there’s the Inspiring Wellness Program, which pays you for taking part. Ariel’s benefits also include a free, confidential employee assistance program.
